Helpline 2-1-1 is a community hotline providing
free, 24-hour access to information, referrals, and anonymous telephone
counseling services. We serve Tallahassee, Florida and the eight
counties of the Big Bend area (Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla, Liberty,
Franklin, Jefferson, Madison and Taylor).:
By simply dialing 2-1-1, callers are able to talk to caring, trained
counselors who provide supportive counseling and/or community referrals.
The Helpline 2-1-1 comprehensive referral
database contains detailed information about more than 1,200
human service programs and mental health providers in the Tallahassee/Big
Bend area. Our referral information is updated frequently to minimize
the chances of making inappropriate referrals.
People call Helpline 2-1-1 for many reasons. Some simply need a
phone number to a community program, while others call because they
need to talk over a problem. Every call is different.
Helpline 2-1-1 also offers suicide
prevention and telephone crisis counseling. We receive calls
from hundreds of suicidal people each year and help to prevent many
needless deaths. 2-1-1 Big Bend is accredited by the American Association
of Suicidology and is a member of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Many of our Helpline 2-1-1 counselors are volunteers from the Tallahassee
area. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please visit
